Cathedral Youth Group

A place for students in grades 6–12 to grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and discover what it means to follow Jesus.

Cathedral Youth Group is a welcoming community where middle and high school students can ask questions, have fun, deepen their faith, and build relationships with one another and trusted Christian adults.

Through worship, prayer, Scripture, small groups, games, retreats, service, and plenty of time together, we want every student to know that they are known, loved, and an important part of the life of the Cathedral.

What to Expect

Youth Group begins together in the Cathedral with worship, prayer, announcements, and a game. Students then break into smaller groups for lessons, conversation, and time to connect with one another.

We finish the evening back together for a snack, conversation, and Compline, the Church’s ancient prayer service for the close of the day. Parents are always welcome to join us for Compline.

Small groups include:

  • Girls

  • Middle School Boys

  • High School Boys

Throughout the year, students can also look forward to retreats, mission opportunities, special events, service projects, and other ways to grow together.

Our Vision

Everything we do in Cathedral Youth Group is rooted in the Cathedral’s mission to Experience, Embody, and Extend the love of Christ.

Experience

We want students to explore and celebrate their unique identity in Christ in a safe, welcoming environment filled with fun, connection, and learning.

Youth Group is a place where students can wrestle with life’s tough questions, deepen their understanding of God, and discover what a relationship with Jesus looks like in their everyday lives.

Embody

We encourage students to put their faith into practice by growing in love for God, the Gospel, and one another.

Extend

We help students build meaningful relationships within the Cathedral and find ways to connect with and serve our local community.

More Than Youth Group

We believe teenagers are not simply the future of the Church. They are an important part of the Church today.

We encourage our youth to participate fully in the worship and life of the Cathedral, especially the Holy Eucharist, and to build relationships with adults throughout our parish. Our hope is that students experience a faith that extends beyond Sunday evening and becomes part of who they are.

For Parents & Families

Faith formation happens in community, and families are an important part of that community. Parents are encouraged to worship alongside their teens, talk about faith at home, and help their students build relationships with other Christians at the Cathedral.

Get Involved

Our Cathedral community plays an important role in supporting our young people. There are several ways adults can help:

Pray
Pray regularly for our students, their families, and our youth ministry.

Give
Help provide scholarships, snacks, supplies, and other resources that make youth events and opportunities possible.

Serve
Volunteer with a small group, help with a special event, or find another way to share your time and gifts with our students.

Contact our Lindy Hamilton, Director of Teen & Children’s Ministries, at lzepp@ccslorlando.org to learn more about serving.

A Safe & Welcoming Environment

The safety and well-being of our children and youth are a priority. Cathedral staff and youth volunteers are federally background checked, complete comprehensive abuse-prevention training through Praesidium Academy, and follow policies designed to maintain a safe environment for minors and adults.
