Past Sunday Matinee Concerts
Many of Orlando’s finest musicians celebrate the diversity of our community in a benefit concert for the city’s OneOrlando Fund, as we also observe Canon Ben Lane’s 25 years as our Cathedral Musician. Hear chamber ensembles, soloists, the UCF University Chorus, and even five world premieres by local composers!
On tour from Uganda, this outstanding chorus of young students will entertain and inspire in an energetic show of singing, dancing, and drumming. In this, their second visit to St. Luke’s, they also perform during our Eucharist at 10:15 am. Everyone is invited!
Horns & Pipes
For the 24th year now, you can hear our massive brass orchestra with percussion and Ben Lane at the Cathedral’s majestic pipe organ. Michael Garasi conducts an exciting variety of “Fanfares and Overtures” in the grandeur of our spectacular acoustic.
Song of Democracy
In an epic concert featuring the Orlando Concert Band, Jon Territo conducts hundreds of singers from local high schools, plus the Cathedral Choir and pipe organ, in music of America, with Howard Hanson’s noble “Song of Democracy” and a rousing sing-along.
Downtown Progressive Organ Plus
The American Guild of Organists presents a delightful variety of organ music with other instruments in four mini-concerts. Begin at St. Luke’s, then progress on to St. James Catholic Cathedral, First Presbyterian, and First United Methodist Church.
Simon Johnson, Concert Organist
A virtuosic young star in the constellation of concert organists, Simon Johnson is the Organist and Assistant Director of Music at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, UK. Enjoy an afternoon of international works co-sponsored by the American Guild of Organists.
Past Sacred Music Series
Advent Lessons & Carols
After a stunning Candlelight Procession through our exquisite Gothic aisles and arches, the Cathedral Choir sings anthems for Advent. Everyone joins in singing carols and hymns of hope, and ancient scriptures and prayers assure us of God’s love and presence.
Christmas Lessons & Carols
The Orlando Deanery Boychoir, Girls Choir, and Men lead one of Orlando’s favorite holiday performances! Enjoy time-honored carols and choral works in this festive service based on the famous Lessons and Carols from King’s College, Cambridge, UK.
Take time to pause and reflect on your Lenten spiritual journey, as the Cathedral Choir leads a traditional Anglican service of music from many eras and styles -- anthems, canticles, hymns, psalms -- with scriptures, prayers, and contemplative organ music.
Song of Mary
A beloved tradition at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, the Christmas Eve concert features our Cathedral Choir and the Beautiful Music Chamber Orchestra in Franz Schubert’s joyous setting of the "Magnificat," "Ave Maria," and many favorite carols. The concert is immediately followed by Christmas Midnight Mass at 11:00 p.m.
The Orlando Deanery Boychoir, Girls Choir, Men, and former choir members altogether welcome you to their annual Homecoming Evensong, a uniquely Anglican service of evening hymns, canticles, anthems, scripture, prayers, choir awards, and a reception.
Our Cathedral Chamber Singers present a powerful Service of Darkness for Good Friday. Amidst candlelight, ancient chants, prayers, and the dramatic narration of Christ’s Passion, hear some of the world’s most sublime “a cappella” choral music.
