Sunday through Tuesday, September 10-12

Anticipating drastically deteriorating conditions late Saturday, the Cathedral Church of St. Luke is canceling services Sunday September 10, 2017, and is closing its offices Monday and Tuesday, September 11 & 12. Our office will be open again on Wednesday, September 13, but dinner and classes that had been scheduled for that night will be postponed until the following Wednesday (September 20).

Please prepare for this storm, and have an eye to neighbors who may need assistance. Pray for those in harm’s way, including first responders, and look to ways that you can help on the far side.

May you know God’s grace and protection in the midst of this storm. May our Lord, as Psalm 31 says, be your “refuge,” your “strong rock,” your “castle of safety,” and your “tower of strength” (verses 1,3,4).

My email is, if you need to be in touch. I will stay as connected as weather & power lines & communication towers permit.

Father Adam Young has the emergency phone this weekend for pastoral issues. That number is: 407-808-9585. Deacon Michael Matheny can be reached at

Saturday, September 9

The Bishop's conferring of Holy Orders will still take place at the Cathedral for eleven rising Deacons tomorrow. If you are scheduled to serve at that service but are unable to do so in light of Irma's approach, that is absolutely understandable. It would be a kindness if you could let me know so I can let the diocesan office know.

If you are able to serve, remember the rehearsal is at 9 a.m., the service is at 11 a.m.
